I reached out to Gwendolyn as I have been struggling with dietary issues for the last 4 years and had come to the conclusion that I was gluten intolerant. I had been suffering from bloating, reflux, and frequent bowel habits which caused me anxiety. Meeting Gwen was so awesome, she has such a lovely way about her and has an excellent holistic approach. She was always easy to get in contact with and is very supportive. She developed an achievable meal plan for me after analysing my food diary and so far the results have been great. She also advised me on what nutrients I was lacking in my diet. I don’t get bloated now, my reflux and bowel habit is improving, the small changes we have made seemed to have made a difference.

My 77 year old mom has suffered greatly with rheumatoid arthritis over the past few years and with many attempts with different medications all with terrible side affects we were at a loss. I spoke with Gwen who suggested a special diet focussing on the proper foods and removing the inflammatory ones. After much discussions my mom was on board to a 3 week commitment. Who knew that food could make such a difference. After 3 weeks there was already some weight loss and my mom was feeling much better. The aches and pains became minimal as did the moods restless sleeps etc…. She has continued on her meal plan for the last 5 months and had lost over 30 pounds and is feeling great. We would highly recommend Gwen for any if your dietary or fitness needs

I first got in touch with Gwendolyn when I was approaching my 49th birthday. I was working out on my own. I had tried classes and other trainers but nothing was really shifting. I was looking for someone who could help me make life changes for the long haul. I kept thinking, is this as good as I can get? Even at my age? Gwen is like no other trainer I have ever worked with. She got to know me, my schedule and my life habits and tailored a program that included fitness and nutrition. She has set me up for life! She is there every step of the way, guiding, encouraging and educating me. She is always available and never makes you feel guilty if you fall off the wagon for a bit!
I am feeling better than I did in my 20’s. I love my personalized workouts that don’t have to happen in a gym and my meal plans are now just a part of the way I eat. Nothing is too much of an effort for her when it comes to me. I am so, so happy I made this investment, you should too – it will change our life! But you have to want to put in the work too!

Contacting Transition Training was an early 50th birthday present to myself and I have to thank you Gwen for the HUGE difference you’ve made in my life!
Gwen gave me back confidence when I was on short supply. I had always been active, running 10K’s and my first half marathon when I was 47 and then suddenly I could barely walk. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease (as so many people my age are) and arthritis in my hips and back. For months it was all I could do to go to work and come home to a heating pad and pain killers. Then one day I decided I don’t want to turn 50 this way and that maybe
I had more control over this inevitable ageing process than I thought. I called Gwen, she came out to meet me for a personalized assessment of my current health concerns and my goals.
I wanted to complete the Tough Mudder in Whistler but I was in so much pain and had been told by my doctors that running was just ‘over’ for me~ I rejected their diagnostic fate! I had heard it was a grueling 20 km obstacle course and I needed Gwen’s (she’s done a few) expertise to not only get my painful, sorry butt off the sofa, but to FINISH an extreme adventure race and I only had 4 months to train.
She brought her megawatt smile, extensive knowledge of Kinesiology and practical applications on how people who are ageing, can get themselves back into shape and do the things they love to do (ask her how to strengthen your sit/stand muscles). She retrained my attitude while I retrained my body. In a very short time, I was able to improve my overall strength and start running again slowly building up to a 10K and more importantly, I knew I was controlling my ‘aches and pains’ they weren’t controlling me anymore.
I am proud to say that I was able to complete the Tough Mudder adventure race in my 50th year of life with thanks to Gwen and Transition Training.
The personalized meal and training plans were really easy to integrate into my busy lifestyle and worked! She even followed my menu and daily workouts on MyFitnessPal and sent me encouraging reminders and tips. Having her there ‘guiding’ me made a huge difference in my dedication to stick with the program. The knowledge and nutritional tips I have learned are invaluable. Gwen made sure I was always motivated, the workouts were always changing and customized to my specific needs.
